Skilled Trades Ontario (STO), formerly known as The Ontario College of Trades (OCOT), is an industry driven, professional regulatory body that protects the public and develops the skilled trades.

STO is transitioning to a simplified, modernized skilled trades and apprenticeship system. The Building Opportunities in the Skilled Trades Act, 2021 (BOSTA) has resulted in significant changes to the trades registration system in Ontario. One of the biggest changes is that Skilled Trades Ontario will not be operating on a membership model.
